Sam Raimi is Bringing Horror Fans ‘Poltergeist’ Remake Next Summer

I think I’m okay with this. I love Sam Raimi and I love Poltergeist, so I’m going to loosen my horror remake muscles just a bit. Starring Jared Harris (Fringe, Mad Men) as Carrigan, a pompous former scholar that jumps ship to host a basic cable show called “Haunted House Cleaners”, the film sounds pretty much the same on the second pass.

In the original 1982 film, a family moves into a newly built subdivision only to find a host of demonic, pissed off spirits have claimed the home as their own, and eventually their youngest daughter.

Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Saxon Sharbino, and Jane Adams also star in the remake set for release on July 24, 2015.
