Lagunitas ‘A Little Sumpin’ Extra! Ale’ Craft Beer Review
Brewed by Lagunitas Brewing Company
Style: American Double/Imperial IPA
8.74% ABV
Serve at 48-50°
Availability: Rotating
Enjoyed from a snifter
A: Pours a very clear, golden-straw color with one finger of off-white foam. Thin, but creamy head retains well. Sticky, spotty lacing.
S: Tons of pungent grapefruit and lemon notes. Clementine, apricot, honeydew, wheaty bready presence, very crisp and juicy. Tropical notes of pineapple, mango, and sweet esters.
T: Piney, earthy hops with a strong herbal flavor. Peaches, tangerine, melon, pineapple, burnt toast, and grainy notes complete the sticky, oily Imperial.
M: Medium bodied, creamy, oily, very resinous and piney. The hop presence lasts forever.
O: I’ve purchased every Lagunitas offering that’s made it to my local shelves, and this brewery is climbing my list fast.
