Enjoyed from a snifter
A: Pours a dark brown, almost cola colored hue with one finger of tan head atop. Nice, sticky, webbed lacing all the way down.
S: Whoa. The first impression reminds me of Three Floyd’s seasonal ‘Alpha Klaus’. Tons of deep, dank piney, floral hops and resin. Tropical notes, pineapple, clementine, and a generous amount of grapefruit stands out. Caramel and almost a brown sugar aroma stands out as well. Fantastic smell.
T: Wow. Juicy grapefruit and citrusy hopes overwhelm on the front end. The sweet caramel notes arrive mid-palette, along with a little spiciness, subtle burnt woods, tobacco and a hint of coffee.
M: Medium bodied, very creamy and rich. That hop profile sticks around for some time.
O: Lagunitas are new to my market. My previous experience with the brewery was getting tanked on their ‘Little Sumpin’ and IPA every time I went to Vegas. This is a great addition to their already hop-heavy line. I urge you to try a bottle out.
