Mastodon’s ‘Once More Round the Sun’ Cover Art Not Drug-Inspired in Any Way

If you’re a metal head, you probably know Mastodon’s new album, Once More Round the Sun, is due out on June 24th. The single High Road is burning up the internet on a daily basis, giving fans the first taste of an insanely anticipated record. The band released the artwork today, created by the artist Skinner, and it looks like something Brent Hinds saw while neck-deep in a ten strip. The massive acid-fueled creature looks terrifying and enlightening, not too far removed from the band themselves.
