Enjoyed from a flute glass
A: Pours a ruby-brown color with accompanying yeast cloud. A finger of soft, cream-colored foam sits atop, leaving spotty lacing.
S: Dates, banana, caramel, burnt sugar, cloves, a little peppery kick at the end.
T: Caramel, brown sugar, banana, dark fruits, almost Belgian-like yeasts, apples, subtle pear and cherry notes with a solid toasted bread undercurrent.
M: Medium to heavy mouthfeel. Creamy, soft, sugary, very rich.
O: I’m certainly no expert on the style, but Southern Tier have crafted another winner in my book. These are in very limited stock, so grab one while you can.
