Brewed by Stone Brewing Co.
Style: American Double/Imperial IPA
Serve at 45-48°
Enjoyed from a tulip glass
A: Pours a hazy amber with two fingers of frothy white head. Dense lacing that coats the glass to the end.
S: Dominating, but still not overpowering grapefruit notes, more like the rind than the meat. Grassy, floral, peach/apricot with a mellow caramel presence.
T: Lots of grapefruit and hops on the front end, but the lighter caramel malts are commanding as well. Piney, herbal, extremely acidic in the middle.
M: Medium to light-bodied. Resinous and very acidic.
O: Stone has far too many impressive IPA/DIPAs too stick with this one. If not for the crippling acidity and bitterness, this would still be “just okay”. Interesting effort, but I’ll stick to Stone’s high points.
