Enjoyed from a snifter
A: Pours a murky copper-amber with two fingers of cream-colored head.
S: Very sweet. Toffee, caramel, brown sugar, bready malt, and not so subtle hops.
T: Wow. Molasses, brown sugar, and caramel sweetness up front. Dark fruits, spicy, herbal hops, and enough punch to identify it as an American-style barleywine.
M: Full bodied, sticky, and rich. Boozy and slightly too sweet.
O: This is a standard amped up American barleywine, The trend for barleywine is to turn them into DIPAs as far as strong characteristic. Overall, pretty solid, if not a little too sweet.
