Enjoyed from a snifter
A: Pours a hazy, dark orange hue with a creamy off-white head.
S: Ruby Red grapefruit, lemon, bitter orange rind, pineapple, and musky, earthy citrus hops blends well with sweet caramel malts, biscuits, and subtle roasted grains.
T: Juicy grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, Passion fruit, honey, and pineapple tones give the dominate Citra hops profile. Subtle, well-balanced caramel malts anchor the citrus characteristics with butterscotch, Carmel popcorn, and grain-rich breads.
M: Medium bodied. Low carbonation with a long-lasting bitter pine flavor.
O: American IPAs have become a dime a dozen, with breweries touting triple IPAs, and every extreme offering you can imagine. Citra Ass Down is a fine session beer with more than enough flavor to satisfy hop hounds and general lovers of craft ales. I’m happy to live such a short distance away from Against the Grain; it was easy to stockpile this and Rico Sauvin. Kentucky has so much more to offer than sports.
