Now, that is songwriting. Perpetually flat and armed with a rather discordant nylon string guitar, yet Cohen turns this into an epic and ethereal song. I heard this for the first time the night I met my wife, and now she’s out-of-town on business for two weeks – the longest we’ve ever been apart. Seems fitting since it’s been bouncing around my head all day.
