Country Boy Brewing ‘Amos Moses Brown Ale’ Beer Review
Brewed by Country Boy Brewing
$4/pint
Style: Brown Ale
6.60% ABV
Serve at 45-50°
Availability: Year round
Enjoyed from a pint glass from The Mellow Mushroom Lexington, KY
A: Dark molasses brown right off the tap. Clear for the style it drinks like a porter as well. A thin and creamy head forms, leaving nice retention until the end.
S: Very toasty. Toffee, chocolate, and coffee notes.
T: Very nice. Not a huge brown ale fan, but these first waves of toffee and smoky grains are selling me. Cocoa and an oak note in the end. Dry on the back of the tongue with just a smack of hops and alcohol.
M: Medium-bodied and very dry, almost astringent at times.
O: I hate to admit that was my first Country Boy brew since I live in Lexington. We’re in the middle of a craft brewery/pub revival now and my excuses all relate to other beers I promise. This was a great starting point for me and I’ll be heading down to sample a few more in the very near future. Amos Moses delivered and I would drink it again.
