Enjoyed from a snifter
A: Pours a hazy, golden amber color with an inch of white foam that sticks to the glass to the end. Some residue and sediment float in the body.
S: Fruity hop overload. Tropical fruits are dominant, orange, papaya, pineapple, mango all make an appearance. Sweet malts and honey form the backbone, allowing the resinous Mosaic and Nugget hops to get the final notes.
T: Biting hops cascade across your tongue before the overwhelming, but balanced citrus tones stake their claim. Tropical fruits and toffee give a juicy, biting finish.
M: Medium-bodied, low carbonation with a smooth, creamy finish. There’s a light lactose element here.
O: Selective beer drinkers and DIPA fans have entered in to a golden age. The market here in Lexington is saturated with a plethora of hop bombs. They range from the sweet to the tongue-crushingly bitter; no hop hound can go wrong with such an expansive menu. This newest DIPA is a welcome entry to mix. The juicy, fruity approach has resulted in a unique option that I’m glad to finally get my hands on.
