Dogfish Head Red & White Beer Review

Article by FisterRoboto of lefthandhorror.com

Brewed by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery

“A big, Belgian-style witbier brewed with coriander and orange peel and fermented with pinot noir juice. After fermentation, a fraction of the batch is aged in one of our 10,000-gallon oak tanks.”

$12.99/Bomber

Style: Witbier

10.0% ABV

Serve at 45-50 Degrees

Enjoyed from a DFH Signature Glass

A: Pours a dark and hazy orange – darker than your average witbier.

S: Two fingers of orange-white foam with nice lacing.

T: Very complex brew. Starts off with grape/pinot sweetness and a some orange peel, the citrus flavors dominate in the middle before it finishes with warming alcohol and a hint of vanilla and oak.

M: Medium-bodied with a perfect amount of carbonation. Dry finish.

O: Maybe a little overkill considering the style, but sometimes more is indeed more. Witbiers aren’t my favorite style by any stretch of the imagination, but this is a nicely balanced offering. Worth a try.
