Brewed by Hoppin’ Frog Brewey
Style: Belgian IPA
Serve at 40-45 Degrees
Enjoyed from a DFH Signature glass
A: Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a thin white head. Minimal lacing.
S: Yeasty with a little bit of hops. There’s an unpleasant aroma within, almost like beef broth.
T: Belgian yeast and spices, if there’s a hint of malts here, I can’t taste it. The taste is so off that I didn’t finish the bomber.
M: Medium-bodied with a dry finish.
O: Belgian beers aren’t my favorite by any stretch of the imagination, but I don’t entirely blame my American IPA palette. The smell and aftertaste of what I can only describe as beef ruins it for me. Stone makes a much better offering for a Belgian IPA and I would recommend starting there if you’re searching for the style. I really like Hoppin’ Frog, but this is a meh beer at best. Pass.
