Brewed by Three Floyds Brewing Co.
Style: American Double/Imperial IPA
Serve at 45-50 Degrees
Enjoyed from a tulip glass
A: Pours a hazy orange color with two fingers of off-whited head.
S: Tropical fruit, lots of orange and grapefruit, pineapple, piney hops with a caramel backbone.
T: Wow. This is a complex offering. Citrusy and herbal, muted notes of pine, orange, grapefruit, biscuits, caramel and even a touch of sage or other herbs.
M: Delicious. Creamy and velvety with a very balanced amount of carbonation. Perfect.
O: I have to once again tip my hat to Three Floyds. The mere idea to incorporate lactose milk sugar into a DIPA was a great idea. The sugary, creamy outcome is amazing. This isn’t something I would replace their Dreadnaught with, but it’s a phenomenal entry into their already impressive IPA catalog. No one-eyed cows were hurt in the review process.
