Brewed by Stone Brewing Co.
Style: Imperial Russian Stout
Serve at 50-55 Degrees
Enjoyed from a snifter
A: Pours an ominous jet black resting below two fingers of tan head. Moderate lacing.
S: Cocoa, burnt, roasty malts, smokey coffee in the background.
T: Bittersweet chocolate and dark fruits dominate the first sip. I get a bigger taste of anise as it warms. The alcohol is well-hidden.
M: Full-bodied, dry with dark fruits (raisin, plum) in the finish.
O: One o the best overall beers on the market, RIS or otherwise. Wonderfully complex and very affordable. Stone continues to improve like a fine cellar stout. Pick some of these up while you still can.
