Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock Beer Review

Article by FisterRoboto of lefthandhorror.com

Brewed by Privatbrauerei Franz Inselkammer KG / Brauerei Aying

$12.99/Four Pack

Style: Doppelbock

6.70% ABV

Serve at 45-50 Degrees

Enjoyed from a mug

A: Pours a deep brownish-red with a thin caramel head. Pretty good lacing thus far.

S: Very crisp malty/bready aroma up front. Semi-sweet chocolate, caramel, with hints of vanilla.

T: Malt overload. Mild chocolate, molasses, dark fruits like prune and raisin. Some light burnt caramel mixed in as well. Really complex. Awesome doppelbock.

M: Incredibly creamy combined with a low/medium amount of carbonation.

O: At one time I think this brew was # 20 something on the list of best beers in the world and it’s clear why. Absolutely at the top of the style, this complex and delicious brew is enough to make me stray from my beloved American craft breweries if even for just a moment. Add this to your must try list.
