Brewed by Rogue Ales
Style: American Porter
Serve at 40-45 Degrees
Enjoyed from a pint glass
A: Pours a deep dark cola color with two fingers of bubbly mocha-colored head.
S: Cocoa powder, dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee; not overwhelming. Reminiscent of milk stouts.
T: Bittersweet burnt chocolate, oats, light hops, cream, standard smokey porter, almost oatmeal stout in the finish.
M: Medium-bodied, and slightly creamy. A good session ale if porters are your bag.
O: Porters just aren’t my preferred style, but this is a very drinkable brew. The chocolate is definitely present in all areas and gives it a nice overall character. The thin mouthfeel combined with the low ABV pretty much means this is just an occasional ale for me. It’s true to the style and that would be a big selling point for porter aficionados.
