This beer goes to ELEVEN.
Style: Belgian Strong Pale Ale
Serve at 50-55 Degrees
Enjoyed from a tulip glass
A: Bright ruby-copper hue. Just a gorgeous pour with a finger of foamy tan head. Sticky lacing.
S: Whoa. Chilies and light cinnamon right out of the gate. Sweet, banana liqueur, cloves and sugar really make you work for an earthy hop presence in the back-end.
T: I knew this was going to go one way or the other with no middle ground. Sweet toffee and caramel first, the Chilies and cinnamon make for an interesting and very unique finish. The Chilies really leave a crisp, prickly burn on the way down.
M: Great to roll around over your tongue. Medium-bodied and creamy for days.
O: I’m shocked that this one works. I’ve been a fan of VE for years, and this one is as unique as they come. Stone managed to brew a very complex and tasty beer for 11.11.11, the Chilies just add a wonderful flair to an already potent brew. Awesome. Try it. You;ll have a strong opinion one way or the other.
