Style: American Barleywine
10.50 % ABV
Serve at 50-55 Degrees
Enjoyed from a Bell’s tulip glass
A: Poured a cherry/amber color with two fingers of white head that left sparse lacing.
S: Malty, sweet, dark fruits, some citrusy hops as well.
T: Earthy hops up front that fade to malty sweetness. Plum, tropical fruits, sugary sweet, with a nice hoppy finish. Nice to see a barleywine not turn into a DIPA in the finish. Very sweet.
M: Nice carbonation. Somewhere between medium to full-bodied. Dry with almost no burn.
O: I don’t think FFF are infallible, but they haven’t disappointed me yet. This is a very solid, if not slightly overpriced barleywine.
