Left Hand Horror: Now with 1000% More Buffy
Article by FisterRoboto of lefthandhorror.com
In the coming days Left Hand Horror will begin random reviews of the best post-modern horror series of all time: Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I love to read things written by people who honestly love what they’re writing about. This seems like the best approach for entertaining/informing y’all and myself.
Like most nerds, I was mildly entertained by the movie version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was clever and cute, but it was also a very limited 90 minutes of gimmicky horror fun. It was forgettable – doomed to linger forever in a purgatory of one dimensional genre films and television shows. Not content to die without living up to it’s full potential, Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season One debuted on March 10, 1997. From there a brilliant, contemporary, relatable, creative, and genius series was born. I love me some Buffy, I mean, I REALLY love me some Buffy. You can ask my wife about my bizarre crush on Buffy Summers that doesn’t necessarily extend to Sarah Michelle Gellar. Yep, it’s weird. Awkward?
If you can withstand the gushing, I promise to deliver frequent and passionate reviews. From here on out it’s nothing but bunnies, Mr. Pointy, Ripper, Doublemeat Palace, and kittens on a regular basis. Stick around, the first review is on the way.
