In Italy, a woman becomes involved in a series of unauthorized exorcisms during her mission to discover what happened to her mother, who allegedly murdered three people during her own exorcism.
The film tells us in the beginning credits that The Vatican doesn’t allow exorcisms to be recorded, and that the film is not endorsed by The Vatican.
Really? Did we need NASA to remind us that the historical accuracies of The Phantom Menace hadn’t been proven at the time of it’s release? The Devil Inside only gets better from here. Did I say better? I meant “reprehensibly shittier”.
The Devil Inside is one of the worst movies I’ve ever had the displeasure of seeing at the theater. I suppose this movie could have worked. Add a remotely plausible plot, likeable characters with any amount of back story, competent acting, directing, and there you have it.
I’m not even going to bother breaking down the events of the movie. It seemed like a waste of time to even make this flick, so spending five minutes to write a synopsis seems moronic. If you like utter bullshit presented to you in the least pleasing way possible, The Devil Inside is surely a powerful contender for top honors. There wasn’t a one minute span of this movie that I enjoyed.
If you enjoy a well planned ending, you’re shit out of luck. I can’t stress how terrible this film truly is. Thank God there wasn’t even 90 minutes to endure. If you’re thinking about seeing this, just send me the money you would have spent, and I’ll come over and punch you in the face. That way you can enjoy the true experience without leaving your house.
If I assigned ratings this would literally get a negative 2 out of 5.
