Style/ABV: American Double/Imperial Stout 8.30%
Serve at 50-55 Degrees F
Enjoyed from a Founders Pint Glass
A: Pours a thick, ebony black with an inch or so of mocha colored head. Nice lacing all the way down.
S: Rich dark chocolate and espresso up front. Faint vanilla and roasted coffee/malts even it out. Smells awesome.
T: Sweet and chocolatey from the start, roasted malt/coffee and espresso open up in the middle and finishes with an oatmeal and boozy flavor. A touch of hops is in there somewhere.
M: Thick as a brick, kids. Smooth and creamy that coats the tongue. Perfect carbonation for the style. Soooo good.
O: Much better than their KBS offering in my opinion. Such a complex and beautiful brew. You can (and I have) enjoy one of these on a cold Saturday morning and not think twice about it. They’re so rich that two is usually my limit. Two is all you need.
Check out the Founders website. They produce an unbelievable seasonal and year round selection and have great distribution. Living in Kentucky leaves me with a lot of options, and Founders ranks high on that list.
