These guys are new to me and definitely worth sharing. Somewhere between Ween and a Danny Elfman soundtrack is Polkadot Cadaver. Classified as avant-garde, this Maryland band produces a brave mix of..dance and metal..or something. Whatever it is, it’s pretty cool. Enjoy.

Catchy title, huh? I’m loving the new RZ album, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor. The funky keyboards really give it a jammed out vibe that merges well with John 5′s fantastic tone. Deftones bassist, Chi Cheng has passed away at age 42. Cheng sustained a serious injury in a 2008 car accident and never made a full recovery. Although he was semi-comatose, he did show promise at times. My deepest condolences go out to the family, friends, and fans of Deftones. Pyre is from the Heritage Special Edition CD, which delivered this along with another bonus song titled, Face in the Snow. This was the second Opeth album to skip the death growls entirely. While I love some Watershed and Deliverance action, this is a hypnotic album on the opposite end of the spectrum, and well-deserving of any Opeth fan’s love.
