‘The Ghastly Love of Johnny X’ (2012) Movie Review

June 18, 2013 by Fister Roboto

Directed by Paul Bunnell Written by Steve Bingen & Paul Bunnell Starring: Will Keenan, Creed Bratton, De Anna Joy Brooks A truly mad concoction, blending 1950s juvenile delinquents, sci-fi melodrama, song-and-dance, and a touch of horror, everything in just the right combination to create an engaging big screen spectacle! One of the best parts of having website like lefthandhorror.com is the amount of movies and DVDS I receive, films that I might not have missed otherwise. Paul Bunnell purchased the […]

‘Halloween III: Season of the Witch’ (1982) Movie Review

June 17, 2013 by Fister Roboto

Written & Directed by Tommy Lee Wallace Starring: Tom Atkins, Stacey Nelkin, Dan O’Herlihy A large Halloween mask-making company has plans to kill millions of American children with something sinister hidden in Halloween masks. This third entry in the Halloween series takes a lot of unjust shit that it shouldn’t. A solid stand-alone horror flick, this was deemed guilty and executed when the trademark masked killer, Michael Myers, didn’t make an appearance. If you like horror movies, Halloween-themed horror movies, […]

‘Barbarella’ Movie Review: An Introduction to Space P*ssy

June 10, 2013 by Fister Roboto

Directed by Roger Vadim Written by Claude Brulé Starring: Jane Fonda, John Phillip Law, Anita Pallenberg In the far future, a highly sexual woman is tasked with finding and stopping the evil Durand-Durand. Along the way she encounters various unusual people. I have to admit, my only previous experience with Barbarella was sneaking a few minutes from HBO when my parents were in bed. At the time, I referred to this movie as Space Pussy to my friends, and I’m […]

‘Satan’s School for Girls’ Television Movie Review

June 9, 2013 by Fister Roboto

Directed by David Lowell Rich Written by Arthur A. Ross Starring: Pamela Franklin, Kate Jackson, and Lloyd Bochner A young woman investigating her sister’s suicide at a private girls’ school finds herself battling a satanic cult. Oh, 1973, you were a good one. The 70′s were awesome for churning out questionable made-for-television horror movies. This is already better than most since it features a young Cheryl Ladd and Kate Jackson – pre-Charlie’s Angels btw. As far as movies of this […]

May 22, 2013 by Fister Roboto

Written & Directed by Richard Kelly Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal, Holmes Osborne, Mary McDonnell, Drew Barrymore, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Jenna Malone A troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a large bunny rabbit that manipulates him to commit a series of crimes, after narrowly escaping a bizarre accident. Do I really have to write SPOILERS for a film released over a decade ago? I didn’t start this blog until October of 2011, so it’s safe to assume there is an entire […]

“Psycho” Was Supposed to be a Comedy?

February 8, 2013 by Fister Roboto

One man’s comedy is one man’s Two and a Half Men I suppose. Comedy, much like horror is completely subjective, but how many of us were anything but terrified at Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 horror classic, Psycho? Daily Mail reports that Hitchcock intended his masterpiece of cross-dressing murder to be viewed as a “tongue-and-cheek” film. Makes sense. Now that I think about it, I can barely distinguish it from Airplane or Caddyshack. Nothing makes me laugh like a transvestite (wearing his […]

April 8, 2012 by Fister Roboto

Article by FisterRoboto of lefthandhorror.com Written by Kenta Fukasaku Directed by Kinji Fukasaku Battle Royale takes place in a dystopian alternate universe where, each year, a select group of young students is given weapons and pitted against one another on an island. March 30, 2012 by Fister Roboto

When Clive Barker decided to turn his novella’s sequel into film, he had no idea just how iconic as well as frightening that his creation would become.
