Spoilers, duh.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. American Horror Story’s co-creator, Ryan Murphy, announced some new info during his Q & A Twitter session with fans this week. According to Murphy, “Bloody Face” is this season’s Rubber Man. Remember this new photo of Levine standing next to the crudely drawn graffiti? Obviously there was some intended meaning here.
Murphy Tweeted that a new opening title sequence is being filmed, but it’s possible the music might be the same. I think leaving some key elements to television’s creepiest show might be a nice way to harken it all back to season one. He also reports that the returning Lange, who portrays a nun, is going to be steeped in duality, being a little bit hero and a little bit villain. I love it. Lange is sure to treat fans to another season of stellar performances.
We already know this years’ “Asylum”, is set in an east coast mental institution during 1964. Here’s a little more info if you missed the announcement.
“When we launched the show last year, we kept quiet about the closed-ended nature of the show because we didn’t want to tip-off the audience that the characters were not going to survive,” Murphy stated the press release. “Now that it has been established that each year is a closed-ended story, the time seemed right to reveal what we’re calling the new installment.”
“We picked ‘Asylum’ because it not only describes the setting – an insane asylum run by Jessica Lange’s character which was formerly a tuberculosis ward – but also signifies a place of haven for the unloved and the unwanted. This year’s theme is about sanity and tackling real life horrors,” Murphy added.
The new season begins in October. Watch a little Emmy action and let it all sink in…
