Oh, dear, Lord. I can almost taste it! FX dropped its 1964 bomb today, announcing the second season of the less than patiently awaited American Horror Story season two. Effectively branded as American Horror Story: Asylum, fans have gone crazy with joy. The name is no huge shock since we all know the series takes place in an asylum located on the east coast during the mid-sixties.
Series co-creator/executive producer, Ryan Murphy, announced earlier today “We picked ‘Asylum’ because it not only describes the setting – an insane asylum run by Jessica Lange’s character which was formerly a tuberculosis ward – but also signifies a place of haven for the unloved and the unwanted,” Murphy said. “This year’s theme is about sanity and tackling real life horrors.”
Official production began in July and the debut is set for October. Get ready.
