Brewed by Southern Tier Brewing Co. New York
$9.99/Sixer
Style: Milk/Sweet Stout
7.50% ABV
Serve at 50-55 Degrees
Enjoyed from a pint glass
A: Pours a deep cola-black with a finger of tan head, nice lace and retention
S: Mostly roasted malts with a touch of chocolate. Nothing to brag about.
T: Roasted malts, chocolate, cocoa powder, a little hint of coffee.
M: Too thin for my liking. I think this is big factor for my take-it-or-leave-it milk stout relationship. It’s creamy, just not enough for my tastes.
O: Not their best entry by far. I love Southern Tier, but this falls flat. I could drink one or two, but the sweetness and thin mouthfeel would wear on me after a while. I love stouts, milk stouts are just a little too weak and then for me when I could be drinking a nice oatmeal or RIS.
