Yvonne Strahovski (of Chuck fame) joins the cast of Dexter Season Seven. According to EW.com, she’ll be playing a “strong, independent woman with a past that she’s struggled to put behind her. As a turn of events leads Miami Metro Homicide to ask for her help in solving some old cases, Dexter works with her and begins to wonder if there’s more to this woman than she’s professed.”
While I’m not so much a fan of Chuck, oh, save it, (I also hate all forms of Dr. Who) I am a fan of Yvonne. Dexter just started filming the upcoming season this month. Season Seven begins 9/30 only on Showtime (or your favorite torrent).

Me too. last season was the first time I felt like they really dropped the ball. Fingers crossed.
I’ve tried every incarnation of DW…just never stuck.
ohh. what i liked about last season is the artistry of the murders. that was excellent. the acting too.. i have to disagree last was one of the best so far! could have done more with his heritage and i really hated the ending with his sister.. still, can’t wait for new season!
I am a Dexter fan forever however I was also less than impressed with last season. Although they have all had trouble living up to the amazing season 4 in my eyes. The twist with the professor being dead the whole time did catch me off guard; I usually figure those things out before the big reveal!! The ending with Debra was inevitable but should have happened before season 6 IMHO. Like maybe Season 5 right after Rita’s death. Well…. can’t wait for Season 7!!!
I feel the same way. Season 4 can’t be outdone; Lithgow was too awesome to top. The whole Deb loves Dex psychiatrist thing was total crap. They primarily pissed me off with the way they wrote the characters SO far out of their parameters. Everything just falls into place too easily for Dexter. I’m rooting for the guy, but come on. He killed the killer on the beach – sloppy. The defining moment was the old couple that was killed where the mural was painted. The police knew there was a murder there and never secured the scene? They let the unarmed forensics guy go in first? Horseshit. Sloppy writing = too much convenience for Dexter. I was so pissed when he was able to remove his face from the mural. Slop city.
I would say they have no option but to outdo the previous season. I did like the thought put into the killings and how Hanks was the killer all along. I didn’t see that coming either. The Julia Stiles season was better than this one, and I didn’t like it that much either. Too many side stories that don’t come to fruition. Get the hell rid of Quinn and give Maria 99% less screen time.

I liked Chuck and I am glad Yvonne Strahovski has such good work coming up, because stars like that can just fade sometimes and she’s too good for that
